project manager

To provide 50 flashlights to the villagers in Tiegai Township reduce very simple problems like buying batteries for the ordinary flashlights.

Naljor Prison Dharma Service funded this project

Lhamotso is from Huoluoshi Village, Tiegai Township, Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, and China. She graduated from Qinghai Normal University in 2005, and she is currently working in Shem Women’s Group since 2006.

What: To provide 50 flashlights to 50 households in Tiegai Township

Project Location: Tiegai Township, Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, China.

Brief Description of Implementation
The project mainly has started, implemented, and completed during New Year days because the project manager, Lhamotso only got chance to go home during New Year days. She selected fifty households who have some animals and indeed those families have herding places where they could not get electricity from Tiegai Township. This is one standard of choosing the receipts of this project and another one is according to their families’ living condition. Since the herds people very much needed the flashlights very often compared to the farmers because the herders need to use flashlights during the female animals’ delivering period constantly and the solar flashlights would be great tools for them to use without spending money on purchasing the batteries for the ordinary flashlights.
I have distributed some solar flashlights to the villagers who are close to my home on 25th of January 2009. From then on, in the following several days I gave the solar flashlights to the local people who visited us during the New Year days and mostly those visitors are from the other village but the same township. The villagers are very happy with this kind of new flashlights and they mentioned that they don’t need to spend money on batteries after i explained the usage of the solar flashlights. The beneficiaries constantly thanked me for giving the solar flashlights, however I corrected them that the donor was in oversee and they really appreciated the donor’s generous donation and help.

The Project manager, Lhamotso is demonstrating how to turn on the solar flashlights, how long the solar flashlights should be charged in the sunshine and other information to two of the project beneficiaries. This middle aged woman and the man are both are farmers but they have some sheep and goats to herd in the herding place therefore the solar flashlights are very useful for them.
