In 2009, Shem Women’s Group has offered several activities: small-scale development project workshop, gender courses, basic computer class and TOEFL class for the young college female students from Qinghai Normal University and Qinghai Nationalities University. In addition, Shem’s members have successfully implemented and managed 26 different projects in rural areas in Qinghai, Sichuan and Gansu Provinces. Those projects have directly benefited around 17,500 local people.

In 2007 and 2008,Shem’s project managers successfully has completed 21 small-scale development projects in rural areas in order to less local people’s heavy burdens and improve the local communities’ living condition, around 10,394 villagers get benefits from those projects and various funding organizations, embassies in Beijing and generous donors have donated about 1,250,000rmb on these projects. We hired three new staff for operating Shem’s main courses development workshop and gender courses.

In 2007, Shem project managers completed seventeen small scale development projects, and attended one month leadership training that cooperated with Asia Foundation. Shem hired four full time staff who attended several international leadership, development, and gender trainings. These staff members held three development workshops for educated Tibetan women, and conducted extensive evaluation of development project success and sustainability.
